SAN JOSE, Calif.–Some companies roll out the red carpet on this trip; others want the Volt on the red carpet.

Such was the case here this spring when our friends at Integrated Device Technology (IDT) wanted us to squeeze the Volt into their lobby for an employee reception. Hey, why not? It was raining outside and that made all the sense in the world.

At least until Captain Kirk, our videographer in chief, tried to navigate the car down a long hallway in the back of the building in hopes of getting into the lobby. Careful measurements had been taken, but they didn't accurately take into account one bend in the road:

On some occasions one must resort to a couple of floor jacks to swing the end of a car around. I have seen some tight turns made that way, it does work. Of course you also need a couple of strong people to push the car sideways. And on some occasions we still hyave to wonder "how did they get it in here?"
